This specimen was lot 35900 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $517. The catalog description[1] noted, "Deventer. Provincial silver Ducat 1698 MS62 NGC. A broad crown featuring an armored knight and the crowned lion shield. Boldly-struck centers with some areas of weakness surrounding the legends. Even so, a choice representative from this one-year type." This type is noted for 1698 only. It is not priced higher than contemporary German thalers (the Netherlands left the Empire in 1648) but it normally comes wretchedly struck.
