Denmark 1905-VBP 25 ore
This specimen was lot 20283 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 25 Ore, 1905-VBP. Copenhagen Mint; mm: Heart. PCGS PROOF-66 Cameo Gold Shield. The finest in the PCGS census, this wondrous, captivating Gem proof issue features tremendous radiance and brilliance, along with a rather intense cameo nature. Seemingly impossible to locate, this RARE offering should create a great deal of excitement over its resounding beauty." Danish currency endured several "reforms" in the nineteenth century. In 1874, the coinage was reformed again to the current system of 100 øre = one krone. This type was struck 1894, 1900 and 1904-05. An 9/8 overdate exists for 1905.
