This specimen was lot 31257 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $558.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christian IX Proof Skilling 1867, PR66 Red NGC. A choice example with reflective surfaces and full mint bloom. Very attractive and rare when certified as Proof." Skillings rigsmønt are recorded from the Copenhagen mint (shown here) and the Altona mint for 1856-63 and 1867-72 as part of the coinage reform of 1854. The coinage was reformed again in 1874 to a fully decimal system and this denomination was dropped in favor of the one øre.
