Denmark 1835-IC FF speciedaler Dav-73
This specimen was lot 148 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$4,572 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DÄNEMARK, Frederik VI. 1808-1839. Speciesdaler 1835, Kopenhagen. Münzmeister Georg Wilhelm Svendsen. Stempelschneider Johannes Conradsen. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Exemplar der Slg. Köhlmoos, Auktion SINCONA 76, Zürich, Mai 2022, Los 1055. Exemplar der Auktion Künker 285, Berlin, Februar 2017, Los 19. ((kingdom of Denmark, Frederick VI, 1808-39, specie daler of 1835, Copenhagen mint. Very rare in this condition. NGC PF62+, Cabinet piece.)"
This type was struck at Altona and Copenhagen 1820-29 and 1833-39. The Copenhagen product has the initials of Georg Wilhelm Svendsen, mintmaster 1831-61.
