Denmark 1711-CW krone Dav-1290
This specimen was lot 10318 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €900 (about US$938). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1711-CW. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik IV. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Detailed strike with lustrous golden toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1711 only in several varieties, including with the king's name spelled "FRIDERICUS". A similar "rytterkrone" was issued in 1723 (KM 523) but varies in many details. The reverse motto, "DOMINUS MI-HI ADIUTOR", means "Aid me O Lord".
