This specimen was lot 31264 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $12,925. The catalog description[1] noted, "Rarely Available Single-Year Issue--Danzig. August III gold Ducat 1734 AU58 PCGS, Luminous, with harvest-gold surfaces featuring the armored bust of August the III--King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, and Elector of Saxony. Well-defined and with minimal highpoint wear throughout, this is a spectacular, nearly mint-state example and an ideal representative of this extremely rare, one-year type."
