Danzig 1673-DL ducat Fr-32
This specimen was lot 3284 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €5,000 (about US$6,459 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DANZIG Stadt. Dukat 1673, mit Titel Michael Korybuts (1669-1673). Zwei Löwen halten das Stadtwappen, unten zu den Seiten die Signatur D - L (Daniel Lesse, Münzmeister in Danzig 1657-1685)//Gekröntes und geharnischtes Brustbild Michael Korybuts r. mit umgelegtem Mantel. In US-Plastikholder der PCGS mit der Bewertung AU 53. GOLD. RR Attraktives, sehr schönes Exemplar. (city of Danzig, ducat of 1673, in the name of Michael Korybuts (1669-1673). Obverse: two lions support the city arms, mintmaster's initials below; reverse: armored, mantled and crowned bust of Michael Korybuts. In PCGS AU-53 holder, rare, attractive very fine example.)"
The SCWC lists this scarce Polish type for 1670, 1672 and 1673 as well as undated examples.
