This specimen was lot 20355 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. 2 Skilling, 1816. Frederick VI (1848-63). NGC MS-65. From what is today the United States Virgin Islands. The single finest graded example at NGC. GEM MINT STATE and with light toning adding character to the piece. For collectors seeking the very best, a coin of incomparable quality." This type, which is priced fairly cheaply in circulated condition, would be reissued in 1837. Ninety six skilling made a daler.
