The first specimen was lot 34551 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $2,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "Danish West Indies: Danish Colony. Christian VI Skilling 1740 (h)-CW MS61 Brown NGC, A fleeting mid-18th century Danish colonial minor that very scarcely is seen so well preserved. Sharp to the highest points, with touches of mint-red color gripping the devices." The second specimen was lot 76684 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[2] noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. Skilling, 1740-CW. Copenhagen Mint. Christian VI. PCGS EF-45. A fairly SCARCE one-year type, this wholesome specimen presents even brown surfaces and is exceeded in the PCGS census by just one other example."
