This specimen was lot 30094 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $7,500. The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA. Ducat, 1929. Kremnica Mint. NGC MS-65. A very difficult and elusive date, this wonderful Gem demonstrates a crisp strike and wholesome luster throughout. Avoiding excess contact or friction, this piece certainly endears itself quite well to the eyes of any collector. An example certain to find itself in a premium collection, accounting to the beautiful condition and general desirability of the date. From the Augustana Collection." This type was struck 1923-38 and 1951 along with a two dukaty, five dukatu and ten dukatu. This type is rarely seen circulated, suggesting the hoarding of what few examples escaped government vaults. The obverse portrait is of "good" king Wenceslas, he of the well-known Christmas carol.
