This ten cents was part of the second decimal republic coinage, with 100 cents = one pound. It is a one year type altho a slightly revised version was struck 1985-98. Cyprus, off the coast of Turkey, fell to the British in 1878 and was made a crown colony in 1925. It became a republic in 1960 and has been de facto partitioned between the Turkish north and the Greek center and south since the early 1970's. Cyprus has since adopted the euro.
Recorded mintage: 10,000,000 plus 6,250 proofs.
