This specimen was part of lot 23692 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $8,812.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Proof 1/2 and 1 Piastre 1927, KM17 and 18, PF65 RB NGC and PF64 RB NGC respectively. The surfaces are deeply mirrored, especially on the Piastre. Very rare, Pridmore, Ford and Diana lacked Proofs of this date! From The Ted Reams Collection." Four dates are mentioned for this type, spanning 1922-31.

Recorded mintage: 108,000 plus a few proofs.
