Stephen Album sale 50, lot 3010

This specimen was lot 3010 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "CYPRUS: Victoria, 1878-1901, AR 18 piastres, 1901, one-year type, beautifully toned in cyan and amber on the reverse, PCGS graded AU58." This scarce one year type was equal to a British florin. The next issue was in 1907.

Recorded mintage: 200,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.925 fine silver.
