This specimen was lot 11438 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $646. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Revolution. Durango, Cuencame. Peso, 1914. NGC AU-55. 'Muera Huerta'." The famous "Muera Huerta" (Death to the dictator Huerta) peso was issued in numerous varieties while the Villistas occupied Durango state. This is the most common type but always in demand.
Recorded mintage: unknown but fairly scarce.
Specification: 23.4 g, silver, 38.5 mm diameter.
