Sedwick sale 27. lot 913

This specimen was lot 913 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 27 (Winter Park, FL, May 2020), where it sold for $3,689. The catalog description[1] noted, "Costa Rica, 1/8 peso, 1853JB, NGC MS 61, finest known in NGC census. Rather lustrous for the grade, with light rainbow toning around details, minor die-porosity, tops at NGC by two grades. NGC #5846759-010." This type was struck 1850, 1853 and 1855. It is not rare in worn condition but very rare in uncirculated.
