This specimen was lot 3354 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Comoros. 10,000 Francs, 1976. Bust of Said Mohammed Cheikh. Reverse: Colibri hummingbird. Brilliant Proof." The bird shown is unlikely to actually be a hummingbird, as hummingbirds are not found in the eastern hemisphere. The SCWC notes the coin as depicting an Anjouan sunbird. A silver 5,000 francs (KM 10) and gold 20,000 francs (KM 12) accompany this issue.

Recorded mintage: 500 uncirculated plus 500 proofs.

Specification: 3.07 g, 0.900 fine gold, .088 troy oz AGW.
