This specimen was lot 44565 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 50,000 Pesos, 1991. PROOF-69 DEEP CAMEO (PCGS). President Mariano Ospina Perez. Hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." Ospina Perez (1891-1976) was the leader of the Conservative party and was president when Jorge Eliécer Gaitán was assassinated in 1948, setting off the Bogotazo and later La Violencia.
