This ten pesos was struck in Bogotá, Colombia, of a type issued 1981-89. It is common in all grades. We have not ascertained the connection between the equestrian statue on the obverse and the map of two tiny islands on the reverse. As recently as 1924, the ten pesos was a gold coin the size of a British two pounds.
Recorded mintage: 83,605,000.
Specification: 10 g, copper-nickel-zinc, 28.1 mm diameter.
