This specimen was lot 236 in Sedwick internet sale 2 (Winter Park, FL, June 2012). The catalog description noted, "Bogotá, Colombia, 10 centavos, 1937. 2.5 grams. Lustrous Mint State with attractive rainbow-toning all over." This ten centavos was struck in Bogotá of a type issued 1911-20 and 1934-42. This type, with the portrait of hero Simon Bolivar, superseded the liberty head type last struck in 1897. The date is fairly common.
