This fifty centavos was struck in Philadelphia and Bogotá to commemmorate the fourth centennial of the discovery of America by Christopher Colombus, the namesake of Colombia. The type is common and occurs in several varieties. A few proofs are known.

Recorded mintage: 4,826,000.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .335 troy oz ASW, edge lettered DIOS LEI LIBERTAD.
