The first specimen shown was lot 1144 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $155.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bogotá, Colombia, 50 centavos, 1889, ball-point 9. 12.4 grams. Choice, lustrous XF+ with hint of toning in legends only, nice strike." While Colombian half dollars are common as a class, even in uncirculated, this is a somewhat scarce date. The type is listed for 1889, 1898 and 1899.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .335 troy oz ASW, edge lettered DIOS LEI LIBERTAD, this specimen 12.4 grams.
