The specimen shown was lot 1142 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $149.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bogotá, Colombia, 50 centavos, 1887, 'Cocobola,' 2/2 in weight. XF with muted luster, faint hairline scratches on face, light toning. This brief, popular, single-denomination type is famous for showing a Liberty head modeled after the wife of president Nunez, Dona Soleded Roman." While Colombian half dollars are common as a class, even in uncirculated, this is not a common date.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .335 troy oz ASW, edge lettered DIOS LEI LIBERTAD, this specimen 12.3 grams.
