This specimen was part of lot 44203 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. A trio of Bogotá Pesos, all certified as AU Details — Cleaned by PCGS. Included are 1855; 1856/5; 1856. (Total: 3 pieces). From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck 1855-59 with numerous overdates, including an 1856/5. The design was changed to a liberty head style in 1868-71, after which the silver peso was dropped in favor of fifty centavos. The type is not rare but scarce in nice condition.
