This specimen was lot 1470 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold for $862.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "1761 J 4 escudos. Popayán mint. VF details (NCS). Types as above. Mount removed at 12:00, but surfaces finer than typical jewelry pieces, with pleasing light yellow gold color. Purchased from Mortimer Hammel, April 18, 1945." This type was struck at Popayán 1760-62 and 1769 but never at Bogotá.
