This specimen was lot 5233 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$1,899 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Chur, Stadt, Dukat 1636. Selten. Schön-sehr schön. (city of Chur, ducat of 1636, Rare, Fine-very fine.)"
Friedberg notes this type for 1634 and 1636-39. Ducats for Chur are few and far between; both the city and the bishop issued some. Chur, along with the rest of Switzerland, left the Empire in 1648 as part of the Treaty of Westphalia which ended the Thirty Years War. The city arms feature a leaping ibex.
