China 2016 2000 yuan KM-2265
This specimen was lot 2809 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 11,506 CHF (about US$13,290 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"EDELMETALL / BULLION CHINA 2000 Yuan 2016, Feingewicht: 150 Gramm. Polierte Platte. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. (people's republic of China, 2000 yuan of 2016, 150 g gold, Choice Proof, In original box with certificate.)"
This design was also used on:
- 1500 yuan (100 g, KM 2264),
- 800 yuan (50 g, KM 2263),
- 500 yuan (30 g, KM 2262),
- 300 yuan (1 kg silver, KM 2261),
- 200 yuan (15 g, KM 2260),
- two fifty yuan (3 g gold, KM 2258, and 150 g silver, KM 2257),
- ten yuan (1 g, KM 2256).
The one ounce panda was raised from 100 yuan to 500 yuan in 2000 and reduced in weight from 31.1 g to 30 g in 2016. The SCWC has not updated its listings of pandas since 2012. The catalog numbers are taken from Numista.
