The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1942-53. It superseded a copper-nickel type struck 1932-33, 1937-41. This type is the first to feature the hero of independence, Bernardo O'Higgins (1778-1842).
Recorded mintage: 11,400,000.
Specification: 3 g, copper, 18 mm diameter.
