This specimen was lot 127 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 220 CHF (about US$262 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Republik. 2 Pesos 1874, Santiago. Vorzüglich. (republic of Chile, two pesos of 1874. Santiago mint. Extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1867, 1873-75 and is more common than the gold peso (KM 140). A slightly cruder version was issued 1857-65 (KM 132).
Recorded mintage: 61,000.
Specification: 3.05 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 3.06 g.
