Künker sale 336, lot 6325

This specimen was lot 6325 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €700 (about US$916 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHILE, REPUBLIK, 10 Pesos 1864, So, Santiago. Vorzüglich. (republic of Chile, ten pesos of 1864, Santiago mint. Extremely fine.)"

This specimen was one of a series struck 1854-67 in Santiago, Chile. An earlier and a later type exist (KM 123 and KM 145), with slightly different designs for the arms and the standing Liberty.

Recorded mintage: 26,000.

Specification: 15.253 g, 0.900 fine gold, .441 troy oz AGW.
