This specimen was lot 30225 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Proof Cent 1928 PR64 Brown NGC. Some mellowed red remains, but elsewhere an enchanting blend of iridescent green, purple and magenta tone catches the eye. Rarely seen in this Proof state and very desirable as such." The SCWC notes this for 1912-29 and all dates are common but the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 2,500,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 4.7 g, copper, 22.4 mm diameter.
