Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 76350

This specimen was lot 76350 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON. 10 Cents, 1903. London Mint. Edward VII. PCGS MS-64." Ceylon attained her independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka. This type was struck 1902-03 and 1907-10 and is common. The ten cents was the smallest silver denomination and did not match any Indian denomination. The last silver ten cents was struck in 1941.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 1.16 g, 0.800 fine silver, 15.5 mm diameter.
