This specimen was lot 33717 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada: Elizabeth II platinum Proof "Grizzly Bear" 300 Dollars 2004 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC, Royal Canadian mint. An elegant design featuring a family of three grizzly bears that pairs nicely with the perfectly frosted bust of the Queen." The profits extracted from the manufacture and sale of NCLT's caused the Royal Canadian Mint to scramble for ever more arcane topics, including this platinum bullion coin honoring the grizzly bear.
