This specimen is one of a type struck at the Ottawa Mint for Canada 1990-2000. The prior type (KM 77.1) had a younger bust of the queen. In 1990, the dePedery-Hunt bust of the queen was adopted. In 2001, the weight was reduced to 1.77 g.

Recorded mintage: 135,569,000 plus 143,085 proofs.

Specification: 2.07 g, nickel, 18.03 mm diameter.
