This specimen was lot 72390 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 10 Cents, 1956. Ottawa Mint. PCGS MS-65. A singular Gem with all features illustriously defined. Fields are quite clean; simply a beautiful coin." This type, struck at Ottawa 1953-64, is common in all grades. The use of chrome plated dies gave a polished appearance to the coins which in turn magnified the detractive effects of bagmarks.
Recorded mintage: 16,732,844.
