This specimen was lot 70329 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 5 Cents, 1897. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. 'Narrow 8'. SCARCE date in th[is] state of preservation. A few marks but bright and lustrous with a nice cartwheel effect. Lightly toned and attractive." This type was struck 1858 and 1870-1901 in substantial quantities and most dates are fairly plentiful up to Extremely Fine.

Recorded mintage: 1,319,283, a common date.

Specification: 1.16 g, 0.925 fine silver, .034 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
