Cammin 1622 1-1/2 thaler Dav-A7243
This specimen was lot 1113 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €12,000 (about US$16,174 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"POMMERN, CAMMIN, BISTUM, Ulrich, 1618-1622. 1 1/2facher Reichstaler 1622, Köslin, auf die Beisetzung des am 31. Oktober verstorbenen Bischofs. VLRICVS · D · G · D · POM · EPISCOP · CAMMIN · 1 · 6 + ZZ Brustbild l. mit Spitzenkragen und umgelegtem Mantel//Neun Zeilen Schrift: NVMMVS : IN / . MEMORIAM : FV / NEBR : VLRICI : P . / . D : ET . The bishopric of Cammin was converted to Lutheranism in the 1540's and soon after fell under the control of the duke of Pomerania, who either appointed himself or one of his relatives as bishop. After the dynasty lapsed in 1637, there was considerable dispute as to who should control the see but in 1679, it passed permanently to Prussia. It is now in Poland.
