This coin, minted in Paris along with a one franc, was issued during the period of French mandate over the territory of Cameroon. Later, in 1960, Cameroon would attain independence. The obverse and reverse design are similar to what was being issued in many other French colonies in Africa.
Recorded mintage: 5,000,000.
