Cambrai (1556-70) florin d'or Fr-111
This specimen was lot 3012 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,842 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"CAMBRAI Maximilian von Bergen, 1556-1570. Florin d'or o. J. mit Titel Ferdinands I. GOLD. RR Sehr schön. (bishopric of Cambrai, Maximilian von Bergen, 1556-1570, undated gold florin, in the name of Ferdinand I. Rare, very fine.)"
This coin is variously catalogued as a goldgulden or a florin and was equal to a ducat. Cambrai is now in France, in the department of the Nord.
Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat common.
