This specimen was lot 3617 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "CAMBODIA: Norodom Sihamoni, 2004-, AV 3000 riels, 2007, Wonders of the World-Borobudur Temple of Indonesia, PCGS graded Proof 69 DCAM, R3 (Daniel), ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection." Wikipedia comments, "Borobudur, also transcribed Barabudur (Indonesian: Candi Borobudur, Javanese: ꦕꦤ꧀ꦝꦶꦧꦫꦧꦸꦝꦸꦂ, romanized: Candhi Barabudhur), is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple in Magelang Regency, near the city of Magelang and the town of Muntilan, in Central Java, Indonesia." Norodom Sihamoni (b. 1953) ascended the throne upon the abdication of his father, Norodom Sihanouk, in October 2004. Actual power was held by strongman Hun Sen, prime minister 1985-93 and 1998-2023. As of May 2025, US$1 = 4,006 riels.
