This specimen was lot 3170 in Sincona sale 3 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 2,600 CHF (about US$3,459 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "PHOCAS, 602-610 Mint of Constantinople Solidus December 603. Officina Є. Obv. O N FOCAS – PЄRP AVG Crowned bust in consular robes facing, holding mappa in r. hand and cross in l. hand. Crown without pendilia. Rev. VICTORI – A AVGG Є Angel standing facing, long staff surmounted by Staurogram in r. hand, globe cruciger in l. hand. CONOB in exergue. DOC 4 (officina Є not listed). MIB 2. S. 623. 4,49 g. Rare.
