This specimen was lot 29585 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus (AD 913-959), with Romanus I Lecapenus (AD 920-944). AV solidus (19 mm, 4.38 g, 6h axis). Constantinople, AD 921-circa 923. + IhS XIS RЄX RЄΣNANTIЧM *, full figure of Christ Pantocrator, with cruciform nimbus, seated facing on throne with curved back, wearing chiton, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels in left arm / ROMAh' ЄT COhSTAhT' AЧΣΣ' Ь', crowned facing busts of Romanus (on left), wearing slight beard and loros, and Constantine, beardless, wearing chlamys pinned at right shoulder; both grasp patriarchal cross between them.
