This specimen was lot 3477 in Sincona sale 3 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,995 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "THEOPHILUS, 829-842. Mint of Syracuse Solidus 829/830. Obv. ÝQЄOFI – LOS bASIL Crowned bust with short beard, in chlamys, facing. In r. hand cross potent. Rev. QЄOFI – LOS bASIL Crowned bust with short beard, in loros, facing. In r. hand globe cruciger. DOC 18.2. S. 1671. 3,82 g. Very rare. Uncirculated. Ex Auction Tkalec Zurich. October 28, 1998. Lot 377."
