Byzantine (780-790) solidus Sear-1593
This specimen was lot 29534 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Constantine VI and Irene (AD 780-797), with Leo III, Constantine V, and Leo IV. AV solidus (20 mm, 4.35 g, 6h axis). Constantinople, AD 780-790. SVh IRIhI AVΓ' MI-THR, crowned facing busts of Constantine VI (on left), wearing chlamys and holding globus cruciger, and Irene, wearing loros, holding cruciform scepter and globus cruciger, her crown with four pinnacles; cross between / COhS-[TAhTIhOS] R' b', Leo III, Constantine V and Leo IV seated facing, each wearing crown and chlamys.
