Byzantine (674-681) solidus Sear-1155
This specimen was lot 29454 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Constantine IV (AD 668-685). AV solidus (19 mm, 4.43 g, 6h axis). Constantinople, 5th officina, AD 674-681. ? CONST-A-NЧS PP, cuirassed bust of Constantine IV facing slightly right, with slight beard, wearing crested helmet with integral crown topped by cross, holding spear over right shoulder and shield on right arm / VICTOR AVΣЧ, standing figures of Heraclius (on left) and Tiberius, both wearing chlamys and holding cross globus cruciger, flanking central cross potent on three steps, Є+//CONOB in exergue.
