Byzantine (662-667) solidus Sear-964
This specimen was lot 29439 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Constans II Pogonatus (AD 641-668), with Constantine IV, Heraclius and Tiberius (AD 659-668). AV solidus (20 mm, 4.43 g, 6h axis). Constantinople mint, 2nd officina, AD 662-667. ΣN CONT-AN, draped facing busts of Constans, wearing plumed helmet with integral crown and long beard, and Constantine, crowned; cross above / VICTORIA A-ΣЧ, cross potent set on three steps; at sides, crowned and draped figures of Heraclius and Tiberius standing facing, each holding globus cruciger in right hand; B//CONOB.
