This specimen was lot 29710 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $587.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Manuel I Comnenus (1143-1180). EL aspron trachy (32 mm, 4.14 g, 6h axis). Constantinople, 1160-1164. Barred IC - XC, Christ Pantocrator standing facing on low daïs, with cruciform nimbus, wearing pallium and colobium, holding book of Gospels, flanked by two large stars / MANΩHΛ O ΘЄΟΔΩΡOC, Manuel and St. Theodore standing facing, each holding a sword, both holding between them patriarchal cross set on globus; three pellets on shaft.
