This specimen was lot 1652 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $6,545. The catalog description[1] noted, "BURMA: Mindon, 1853-1878, AV mu, Mandalay mint, CS1214, a fantastic lustrous example for this one-year type! PCGS graded MS63. The machinery for producing the CS1214 (1852-53) coinage was imported from Birmingham, England." This mu or double rupee was struck in several styles. It accompanied the well known peacock rupee of Burma.
