This specimen was part of lot 1023 in Goldberg sale 116 (Los Angeles, June 2020), which sold for $492. The catalog description[1] noted, "Burma/Myanmar. Mu and 2 Mu, 1970-1971. KM-43, 44. Total weight 0.1929 ounce. Peacock. Revolutionary coinage. Lot of 2 coins. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated." Burma saw Japanese occupation during World War II, after which the British granted it independence. In 1962 a military junta took over and eventually reformed the country as a socialist enterprise, renamed Myanmar. Since then the country has only slowly emerged from extreme isolation.
