This specimen was lot 2059 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"BULGARIEN, Boris III. 1918-1943 100 Lewa 1934. Gutes vorzüglich. (kingdom of Bulgaria, Boris III (1918-43), one hundred leva of 1934, good extremely fine.)"
This type was struck at the London and Belgrade mints for the kingdom of Bulgaria in 1934 and 1937, along with a similar fifty leva. The king, Boris III, chose the Axis side during World War Two and was deposed by the Communists in 1943 as the Soviet army approached.
Recorded mintage: 2,506,000 plus proofs.
