This specimen was lot 33416 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bulgaria: Ferdinand I gold 10 Leva 1894-KB MS62 NGC, Kremnitz mint. A scarce one-year type, made scarcer still by its near-choice grade. Abundantly lustrous and with minimal handling." This issue minted in Kremnitz, along with an accompanying twenty and hundred leva, are the only gold issues of prince Ferdinand. Bulgaria did not obtain full independence until 1908.
